Volunteer Teaching Overseas
As native English speakers, Australians have a great opportunity to pass on their English language skills voluntarily overseas.
i-to-i teaching volunteers have the chance to see a side of a country that tourists can only dream, working closely with a community to improve the levels of English of both children and adults.
You’ll see your students grow in confidence and ability during your time in-country, whatever type of project you choose to join. You could be volunteering at an orphanage, at bi-lingual schools, or at remote schools in the rural countryside.
As an i-to-i volunteer your accommodation may be with a local family, during which you’ll also have the chance to help pass on your English skills while you relax in the evenings!
All volunteers teaching overseas with i-to-i can receive comprehensive TEFL/TESOL training before they arrive in country at a heavily discounted rate, through our accredited Online TEFL course.
"I'm actually formally teaching English, an assignment that is hard (and not just because we do everything sitting on the floor), challenging, hilarious and very entertaining (my broad Australian accent - yes, yes - is proving problematic...). It is also extremely rewarding. I was probably disproportionately pumped when one of the girls understood tenses; ecstatic when I overheard one of them say 'thanks very much', rather than 'very, very thanks' and delighted when I heard one of the girls asking a customer 'would you like any help?'" i-to-i volunteer teaching in India
